The coordinator of the Fashion Club, Vibhor Jain, took time out of his busy schedule for an interview with the Oasis English Press. The Fashion Club participates in the Fashion Parade event which will be held on Day 4 of OASIS.
In the lead up to the event, the team has been working for 5-6 hours every day. So far, they have made props and an inventory list. They’ve also finished designing their costumes and sent it for stitching to Delhi. In the week leading up to the event, the focus is to give final touch ups to the costumes.
For Vibhor, the theme Neon Noir is very exciting. The club will be integrating it into the parade using neon paints and belts . He didn’t want to reveal any more details but promised that the fashion parade will be one to behold.
Vibhor was frank about the fact that in the previous years there were issues like the club’s internal politics that hampered the success of their event. So, this year, he worked to revamp the club and minimize the issues that didn’t allow the club to progress.
Being the coordinator has been a wonderful experience for him. According to him, there are positives and negatives when it comes to holding this position. Although managing the overall activities of the club, dealing with budget related issues and taking responsibility for every task is difficult, he still enjoys being in this position.
The club has done better this year due to the increased efforts of its members, especially the recruits. They also received help from other clubs in designing the costumes and acquiring the materials for make-up.
In the end, his message to all the BITSians, ‘Style is the way to say who you are without having to speak.’
