With a fest as big as Oasis, the massive influx of participants is inevitable. Hence, it becomes imperative that the arrival of these participants are properly regulated. This is where the Department of Firewallz steps in.

The main work of the department consists of registration of the incoming participants and surveillance during the fest. Firewallz is usually the first department that interacts with the incoming participants and is also responsible for informing them about the rules and regulations they’re supposed to follow during their stay on campus. The department works in association with the Department of Controls, and Reception and Accommodation for the duration of the fest, and starts work about ten days before Oasis.

Their Oasis co-ordinator, Swaraj Budhavaram,  is trying to streamline the process, as it usually takes time to register such a large number of participants. He remarked that his experience as co-ordinator has been mostly positive till now. However, a majority of their work begins during the fest, and he expects all members from the department to work together, and better the fest experience for everyone.
