Achintyaa Tewari, the co-ordinator of Film Making Club (FMaC), is currently absorbed in the preparatory work for the upcoming fest. However, he was able to take time out of his hectic schedule for an interview with the Oasis English Press.
FMaC is a group of enthusiasts who shoot a variety of films ranging from small skits to video coverage of large events. The major role the club has is the shooting of Oasis and the production of an after-movie, one which will be shot and edited by first and second years. It is one of the most important forms of digital media for the publicity of Oasis. Photog tries to cover as many events as possible, but they do not have the manpower for a fest as large as this. The StuCCA grades all events and sends a list of the ones to prioritize. The club is renting out equipment worth 17 lakhs for the event, including a drone for the professional shows.
FMaC has launched the second edition of a full-fledged film festival this year, in collaboration with Matrix and the Photography Club. It was established last year but there were still many events pertaining to film enthusiasts outside of the festival. This year, all screenings, competitions and events related to film will come under one umbrella
Achintyaa feels that the collaboration will improve participation and the turnout at various events. He has been chasing the various panellists and sponsors required for the events for the last few months. There’s still a lot of work for him but one can tell that he is happy doing it for the club.
