Aaryan Makhija, the APOGEE coordinator for Film Making Club (FMaC), has spent the last three weeks working intensively with his batchmates and juniors to prepare for APOGEE 2022. From CoStAA pitch meetings, coordinating with other departments, and keeping a check on all club activities—his schedule has been very hectic.
FMaC has planned three events for the fest this year. Their flagship event is Cinema Paraquizzo—a film trivia competition. This event will have a trivia round, an audio-visual round, and an interesting twist to the classic game of dumb charades.
Uncharted—an event that the club is organising for the first time—will incorporate the fest’s theme, The Encrypted Dimension. This will be a typical escape room game; only the clues to get out will be based on movie references. There will also be a movie screening of “Sulemani Keeda” by Amit Masurkar. ‘This movie got lost in the shadows of his other two movies, Newton and Sherni,’ said Aaryan. This will be followed by an online questions-and-answers session in the NAB auditorium.
Aaryan has seen FMaC evolve from a small club with a few hard-working members to a huge team of about 50 members where the only thing you are tested for is your interest in filmmaking and your commitment to making the club better. In closing, he said, ‘It is evident through the pitch meetings that the importance given to the club has increased drastically, and the club has evolved very effectively[sic].’
