Taking some time out of his busy schedule, the Students’ Union General Secretary, Akash Singh, sat down for an interview with the APOGEE English Press.
The General Secretary is the CoStAAn in charge of handling inventory. In this capacity, Akash makes arrangements for APOGEE merchandise, and handles the inventory requirements of the various organisations working for the fest.
When asked about what was new in this edition of APOGEE, Akash said, ‘I feel the quality of speakers has definitely improved. We also have several new exhibitions lined up.’ He added that the CoStAA had experimented considerably this year. ‘Apart from the traditional events, the collaborations with BITSMUN, DebSoc, and NSS are new additions to APOGEE. There was a lot of planning involved, and the CoStAA has put in a great deal of effort for the same.’
Coming to the theme of APOGEE, the Inventory CoStAAn believes that its purpose is to provide a direction to the fest. ‘This year’s theme, The Reality Roulette, will be depicted well throughout the fest,’ he stated.
Akash is optimistic about the participant turnout. ‘If you notice the BITSian attitude towards APOGEE, you will find that the students are better-informed and expect more from it this time around.’ He expects APOGEE ‘19 to be the best edition of the fest so far.
Akash concluded with a message for the BITSian crowd. ‘This APOGEE promises interesting talks, exhibitions, and events. The organising bodies have worked hard to get it to this stage. APOGEE being the technical fest, it is especially important for BITSians to show healthy participation in all events. The speaker line-up is amazing too, and these talks may leave a lasting impact on our lives.’
