The BOSM English Press (BEP) recently had a chat with the Coordinator of Gurukul, Khushi Satrawala, about their events—during BOSM, and beyond. Khushi extensively talked about their upcoming performances at the BOSM inauguration, as well as their flagship event, Dhwani, which will also take place during the fest.
Khushi explained that Gurukul performs at the BOSM inauguration and organizes Dhwani during the odd semesters. It also conducts a second Dhwani, as well as Psenti Nite during the even semesters. Khushi promised that the events would be ‘highly entertaining and energy-packed’.
Khushi talked about how they will be performing three songs during the inauguration, and sixteen others during Dhwani. When questioned about the setlist, she explained that the songs to be performed were picked after much deliberation and consideration, taking into account the preferences of the club members and the expectations of the audience. She promised that the setlist has something for everyone, and the events are guaranteed to be an ‘enjoyable experience’.
Regarding club practice sessions, she told us that the setlist is decided a month before the actual event, and the members work tirelessly towards perfection every day, till the night of the aforementioned event.
On being asked to provide the BITSian population with a sneak peek, she revealed that a certain superhit Aerosmith song will be performed on stage, and it is something that she is extremely excited about.
As the first female coordinator of Gurukul, Khushi described her experience as ‘surreal’. She reflected on the opportunity as both enjoyable and inevitably challenging. Despite the taxing nature of the role, she commended the dedication of the members and stated that their efforts have ensured the smooth functioning of the club, allowing her to lead a club she deeply cherishes.
In conclusion, she urged the BITS janta to come support the club’s hard work and dedication that has gone into their upcoming events. She reaffirmed that it would be a ‘memorable experience for all’.
