Hindi Activities Society

The BOSM English Press sat with Vidhi Jain, the BOSM Coordinator of the Hindi Activities Society (HAS), to talk about their preparations for the fest.

Vidhi started by saying that apart from N2O, HAS would be conducting a quiz called ‘Quilympics’, which, as the name suggests, would be a quiz based on the Olympics. She explained that the quiz would be live on the BOSM app every day for twelve hours, and would comprise six rounds. The winners of the quiz would be given prizes in kind.

She then went on to explain their marquee event, N2O. Vidhi explained that the work for the same started during the semester break which included reaching out to various agencies, getting artist deals, and locking the deal before coming to college for the next semester. The payments were done after coming to campus, she added. She shared that while choosing stand-up comedians, they had to keep in mind the budget and the popularity of the artists amongst first and second-year students, since they constituted a major portion of their audience. She mentioned that they expect Vipul Goyal, one of the artists performing this year, to be relatable due to his jokes on IITs and BITS Pilani.

For publicising the event, she said that the Department of Sports, Publicity, and Design worked closely with them. She mentioned that the artists also post about the event on their respective Instagram stories which attracts a major chunk of the audience.

She conveyed that since the event took place in the auditorium, which had a limited seating capacity, in the past, some people who signed up for the event were not able to get in. She noted that this was a recurring issue, circumvented by rolling out cancellation forms. She revealed that everyone in HAS shared a good bond and was ready to work whenever asked. Moving forward, she hoped that HAS would continue to get good artists for N2O and aim to get the best deals.

On a parting note, she urged everyone to show up for N2O and assured everyone of a good time.
