Akshita, the coordinator of the Hindi Press Club, seems to be a person accustomed to having strict deadlines and having no problem following them. “BOSM is quite a stressful fest for us; most of the new entrants to the club have no experience with something like this, and the tendency to stick to a deadline has to be cultivated in them.” Prior to the fest, the HPC is tasked with interviewing the coordinators or captains of all departments and teams involved in BOSM to create a wall-mag. During BOSM, they cover all events in their newsletter and also send out SMS alerts when an event begins.
They have the responsibility of running the BOSM roulette on the official BOSM app which is developed by the Coding Club. They also conduct Spotlight, the name given to the Hindi commentary of the ever-popular basketball events.
Other than the newsletters that they publish during the fests, they publish three to five non-fest newsletters, reporting on the significant events or situations in campus. Of particular importance are the first one of the year, which is the freshers’ edition and the last edition in each semester, which are the placement issues. “We will be trying to introduce some new articles or cartoons in the issues soon”, she adds.
When asked for a few final words, she mentions how BOSM is the first college fest for the freshers and how that results in it being a fun fest. “Make sure you enjoy the fest to the fullest, it will not be an experience you forget”, she says, signing off.
