Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers

The APOGEE English Press interviewed Khushi Chadha, the coordinator of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) chapter of BITS Pilani to learn about their work for the upcoming fest.

Khushi stated that their kernel event, Chem Poker, had seen some changes. Instead of a STEM-based quiz for the first round, both rounds would be poker games this year. Their new event, Lab Lockdown: Escape the Labyrinth, would present an escape room which could be played in teams. She explained that the teams would have to finish ten stages of the game in ten minutes. This event would also feature exclusive hoodies and cash prizes.

Khushi said that their third event would be The Block Printing Co., wherein attendees could purchase pouches and t-shirts, and block-paint them using the materials provided by IIChE at their stall.

She explained that ASPEN-HYSYS is a software used by chemical engineers and that IIChE had conducted a workshop on it in the previous edition of APOGEE. She elaborated that this workshop failed to achieve the expected footfall, which had led to unaccountable losses, and thus, had been scrapped this year.

Khushi shared that they were expecting to face difficulties during the fest this year as they might have all three of their events running simultaneously. On a concluding note, she shared that she was satisfied with her team and was looking forward to the fest.
