The Department of Informalz likes to appear very busy in the weeks leading up to Oasis – so much so that the Oasis English Press was almost unable to get in touch with them. As it turned out, they happened to have a large number of events planned for the fest.

The department seemed to be very proud of two of their events – Beg, Borrow, Steal and the Treasure Hunt, which are expected to draw significant footfall. They are also organizing the flagship talent show – Mr and Miss Oasis. This year, they have decided to conduct the Entertainment Quiz in collaboration with the English Language Activities Society (ELAS). Informalz will also lend ELAS a hand at organizing Speed Scrabble.

Informalz members informed us that they will stick to their tradition of having a new event every Oasis, and seemed (genuinely) concerned about the morale of the populace. “We’re working extra hard to make sure everyone has a good time these four days.” They proudly talked about focusing on division of labor based on preferences, hoping that it would streamline the decision-making process and make the execution more efficient. However, they also softly admitted that there have been issues at executing some of the brainstormed ideas. 

“We’re faster and better than last year; our capable team is very enthusiastic about everything we’ve undertaken.” On that proud note, Informalz was happy to sign off with the hope that their events might actually be fun and encouraged all BITSians to have a good time at Oasis.
