The APOGEE English Press approached Bhavishya Garg, the coordinator of Inspired Karters Electric (IKE), for a short interview regarding their events for the upcoming fest.
IKE is a team of automobile enthusiasts who build formula style electric vehicles and compete in various events. It is a diverse group which does everything from procuring materials for the vehicles to managing their own publicity.
IKE is organizing four events in APOGEE this year, each in collaboration with a different club— F1 simulator, a Digital Design Challenge, CADathon, and an F1 Quiz, in collaboration with the Gaming Club, Instrumentation Forum, the Mechanical Association, and ELAS respectively.
Navigating the grounds of organizing events in APOGEE has certainly been tough, especially as it was a first for the team. Everything from coordinating with the CoStAA and the SU to figuring out the logistics of events was considerably new for the club. However, Bhavishya believes that they found their footing last OASIS, so things have been going well for them.
Work has been constant for the members of IKE. Some of their pre-fest work includes dealing with vendors, obtaining equipment, preparing quiz questions, and handling publicity for all their events. Scheduling events such that none of their timings clash is another pertinent issue, especially for those having multiple rounds.
When asked about his time as a coordinator, Bhavishya replied that the fest and preparations for it have given him an opportunity to bond with his juniors and batchmates alike. He said it could get a little overwhelming at times, but has also been a fun experience.
To conclude, Bhavishya said, ‘This is the first time IKE is doing events for APOGEE, so any feedback is appreciated.’ He also wished for all students to have a wonderful time at the fest and urged them to attend IKE’s events.
