The APOGEE English Press sat down with Vishnu Bansal, the coordinator of the Instrumentation Forum to gain an insight into the activities of the association for the upcoming fest.
The Instrumentation Forum organises talks, workshops, and panel discussions year-round. They also act as a medium to connect students interested in pursuing projects with faculty mentors who could help them with the same. The association is conducting two events for this year’s APOGEE. The first event is the established and prestigious Srikant Visweswariah Analog Design Challenge, while the other event is the Digital Design Challenge, a new addition, which is being organised in collaboration with Inspired Karters Electric. Vishnu says that the layout of this new event is like the Analog Design Challenge, with the obvious distinction of being designed for digital electronics. Vishnu also spoke of how the theme of this year’s APOGEE, A Hivemind Genesis was apparent in these challenges.
Vishnu also gave some insight on the way the association had prepared for APOGEE. All the tasks had been delegated in the previous semester and important work such as getting in touch with the professors, corresponding with the alumni, and making problem sets had begun well in advance.
Speaking of his experience as a coordinator, Vishnu said that it had been a ‘mixed bag’. While his work as a coordinator brought with it many responsibilities, it also helped him get in touch with more people and develop himself.
