With Oasis right around the corner, the Oasis English Press reached out to Adhvaith KS, the coordinator of Matrix, to learn more about the contributions MATRIX plans to make to the fest.

Adhvaith shared that Matrix is the cinema and literature club on campus that holds meetings where members talk about the movies and books that they’ve watched and read. He mentioned that this year, Matrix is organising three events — two movie screenings, one each in English and Hindi, and a cinema and literature quiz with a prize pool of INR 10,000. He added that the Hindi film Ghoomer, will be screened in collaboration with Embryo and in the presence of its director, R. Balki.

When asked about the preparations of the club for the fest, Adhvaith noted that they started working around the middle of October. He stated that the challenges while preparing for the fest have mainly been the small gap between the mid-semester examinations and the fest itself. He further added that a lot of members went home during this period which slightly impeded their progress. 

Talking about his experience as a coordinator, Adhvaith remarked that it had been a pleasure, highlighting his closeness with members of the club. He noted that working with StuCCA had been pretty smooth, with them holding regular meetings and helping out in every way they could. When asked if he had any message for BITSians, Adhvaith said it would just be to go out and experience as many events as they can and have fun.
