The Oasis English Press had a chat with Hemant Agarwal, coordinator of the Media Relations Club, regarding their groundwork for Oasis. The club does not host any events during the fest but is busy in other aspects. Their main job is to cover all events happening during Oasis in terms of taking photos and writing articles. Media houses are contacted after the articles are written, and publish the content in their newspapers and online posts. In the previous Oasis in 2019, both national and local press houses were consulted. Those based in Jaipur even sent their journalists to interview a few guests on campus.
Various roles are assigned to members of the club. These roles include English and Hindi content writers, graphic designers, and photographers. Hemant explained that the planning included revisiting older articles to gain a sense of the writing style and improvement, while also going through daily newspapers and taking inspiration from them.
During Oasis, the Media Relations Club will be looking to interview the Chief Guests. Apart from that, they may also try to get word from guests from other colleges.
Hemant mentioned that all club members were thrilled, especially because the fest is taking place after three years. He added that a lot of them were young and ready to work hard, and those who were attending their last Oasis were happy to be a part of the preparations. Hemant appreciated the seniors and their ever-helpful attitude. He said that the StuCCAns had also been sharing their knowledge with the club, something that the coordinator found extremely useful.
When it came to the general public, Hemant requested everyone to read the articles that would be published on social media. He also stated that the club was open to suggestions from readers. Most of all, he hoped that everyone sincerely enjoys the fest, especially those who would witness it for the last time as students.
