Being the Mountaineering Club of BITS Pilani comes with some tall expectations.
When you’re a club that goes on hikes and ventures out into the wilderness, it’s hard to bring that same spirit of wonder and adventure to the limits of a college campus during a fest. In an attempt to encourage the aforementioned spirit during Oasis, the Mountaineering Club has decided to organize three adrenaline-charged events- Paintball, Power Zorbing and Archery.
The coordinator for MAC, Pradyumn Singh, is enthusiastic about the events his team plans on organising. He mentioned that the work had become intense in the week leading up to Oasis (averaging at around four to five hours per day), and explained that the work they’re not going to be involved in manual labour, but instead mostly in management and security.
The reason behind this, he explains, is the fact that most of the logistics in such an event is only controlled and managed by the organizations the team has decided to reach out to. As a result, the only job that remains for the team is to coordinate with these organizations and ensure the smooth operation of the stalls.
“It’s been really good working with everyone, and we have faced no issues thus far,” says Pradyumn Singh. He hopes that all the hard work the club has put in will attract people for the events, and invites everyone on campus to participate.
