Mountaineering and Adventure Club (MAC)

As we gear up for BOSM, the BOSM English Press reached out to Siddharth Krishnan, the Coordinator for the Mountaineering and Adventure Club (MAC), for a conversation about the club’s role in the upcoming fest.

Mountaineering and Adventure Club (MAC) is generally responsible for carrying out treks and inculcating sports and activities through events such as camping nite, body zorbing, and fitness bootcamps.

Regarding BOSM, the club was looking forward to their flagship event—body zorbing—which, according to him, is just ‘crashing into your friend’. Body zorbing has been a legacy MAC event that has proved to be profitable for years, with this year’s goal being to increase the revenue generated even more. Talking about inventory, he explained how they usually order it from the same vendor every year, a few days before the fest, so that it doesn’t get too hectic during the last few days. Comparing BOSM and Oasis, Siddharth talked about how camping nite could be a bit difficult to manage at times due to the increased inventory requirements and pre-fest planning.

Talking about working with the CoSSAc, he elaborated that everything had been extremely smooth owing to MAC’s good work over the years. There may have been a few hiccups here and there due to financial constraints, but everything apart from that had been smooth sailing. On a parting note, he urged the GBM to drop a visit at MAC’s zone in VK Lawns.
