The Oasis English Press met Jainam Gandhi, the Coordinator of the BITS Pilani chapter of the National Service Scheme (NSS), to learn about their preparations for Oasis ‘25.
Jainam shared that NSS would be conducting its legacy event, Shop for a Smile, featuring two sub-events. He explained that one of them would be a shop selling handmade products from the beneficiaries of various NGOs, with all proceeds directed back to the NGO to support them. He added that they would also be conducting carnival games such as basketball, obstacle course, and strengthening.
When asked about their preparations for the fest, Jainam stated that they had started approaching NGOs around mid-April to collect products from those willing to contribute to the shop. He added that for the carnival, they first ideated the games, finalised them, and then collected items for the same.
Jainam shared that although his experience as a Coordinator had been hectic and overwhelming at times, he was nevertheless grateful for it. He concluded the interview by urging the GBM to give back to the society as much as possible.
