The President of the Operations and Strategies Club (OSC), Aarushi Roy, sat down with the Oasis English Press to talk about their preparation for the club’s event in the 50th Oasis.

As a club that was founded by the 2018 batch, the OSC is relatively new. After its inception, they were not very active owing to the pandemic but have since then conducted talks regarding the supply chain domain. 

This year, they will be conducting an event based on ‘The Game of Life’. Adding multiple twists to the usual board game, to make it more competitive, they will be incorporating two specific industries from scratch—Food and Manufacturing. They have also introduced tiles with profits and losses, each assigned based on approximations the club has made. Investments will be the major risk factor involved. The game will conclude with a ‘payday’, where the player with the highest profit wins. Aarushi mentioned each team should consist of four to five members and expects a turnout of over 150 participants.

Working with juniors and guiding them was something new for Aarushi. Before taking up the role of the club’s President, she was ‘on the other side,’ taking instructions from her seniors. Though she would have appreciated it if seniors who had seen Oasis 2019 were on campus, she was happy to be guided by the StuCCAns, who were helpful and supportive. 

Aarushi found that the planning of the event helped her explore the domain of supply chain, and learn about the game in general. She enjoyed the work sessions and interacting with juniors.

Aarushi invited everyone to participate in their event on November 20 and 21, from 1 PM to 5 PM, in FD-1. According to her his event would be a great opportunity to gain knowledge while still being able to enjoy. Since Oasis is happening after a span of three years, she encouraged everyone to enjoy the fest as much as possible.
