The coordinator of the Operations and Strategies Club (OSC), Aaryan Mehta, sat down with the OASIS English Press to talk about the club’s preparation for the upcoming edition of OASIS.
Aaryan explained that the club’s kernel event is “BITSian’s Game of Life”. It is a fun game based on basic operational strategies. A player is given a few choices and will have to make certain choices, due to which they develop their own strategy for the game. Aaryan stated that the culmination of the different choices chosen by the player makes the final difference.
Aaryan mentioned that the club had begun preparing rigorously more than two weeks before the fest. When asked about the challenges faced by the club, Aaryan mentioned that the club did not face a lot of challenges as the members of the organising team are extremely cooperative.
Aaryan talked about the growth and evolution of the club, mentioning that the club was initially very small and had a small workforce. However, he noted that the continuous progress the club has been making has been exponential.
He described a normal workday of the club, stating that the club assigns small projects to their juniors, giving them case studies so that they can analyze and develop operations and strategies. Aryan believes that the club inculcates fundamental values such as teamwork and leadership while also helping its members explore new domains.
On a parting note, Aaryan stated that the OSC focuses on providing a platform for students to develop their aptitude and orientation in the professions of management, consulting, and strategy. He would like to try and increase active participation in “BITSian’s Game of Life” and would like for their club to continue to grow exponentially.
