RadioAktiv, BITS Pilani, is all set with their events for this Oasis.

The first event, the annual prom night is Harry Potter themed and has been aptly named The Yule Ball. It will be a four-hour event, held in the Student Activity Centre (SAC).

The second event, namely, Escape Room, has been touted as the more interesting one. Participants are locked inside a room and given a clue based on the theme they choose. There are seven clues in total, one leading to another and so on, with the final clue leading to the number that unlocks the door. Participants are required to solve the entire mystery within a span of thirty minutes. It has been based on four major themes: Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. / HIMYM, other Hollywood movies and Hollywood shows. The entire event will be held inside one of the rooms in Faculty Division II. The location has been kept secret for obvious reasons.

Pilani’s remote location turned out to be a major issue for the RadioAktiv Team.  Multiple trips to Delhi were made in order to arrange for items not available in Pilani, including dresses and other items for decoration. SAC’s limited capacity also turned out to be an issue as well. “We usually get responses from around 250+ couples while the maximum that the SAC can hold is 100 couples. So, cutting down on people, which also means disappointing them, becomes an unpleasant issue”, said Manav Fakay, RadioAktiv’s coordinator.

Nevertheless, the club have managed to prepare for a wonderful Oasis this year. “This year, Escape Room has four themes compared to just one last year, and the theme for the prom night (the Yule Ball) is what every kid who grew up watching Harry Potter has fantasized about. So, all in all, this Oasis is going to be much more interesting and fun-packed than last year’s”, said the RadioAktiv coordinator when asked about his expectations for this Oasis.
