In a conversation with the EPC, Cheshtha Babbar, the head of Radioaktiv talked about how the club has been working and the events they plan to organise during BOSM. The club conducts four- hour long events every evening for three days in Gym-G. On their first day, they plan to organise Openmic, in which people can sing, dance and perform on stage. The subsequent event planned is Karaoke, where the lyrics are displayed on the screen and anyone can take the centre stage to sing alone or with friends. The last Ave best-known event is the game – Beg, Borrow, Hunt.Â
Talking about the last BOSM, Cheshtha said that things did not go as planned due to rains. This year, they expect a much better footfall. The club has also made some changes to their events this year. The rounds for the games during Beg, Borrow, Hunt will be more difficult. This is also the first time that the Music Club is being invited to deliver the first performance in Openmic. Other clubs including The Cubing Club and The Karaoke Club are also going to coordinate with Radioaktiv during BOSM events.
The club members are coordinating well and Cheshtha has been extremely happy with the work of her juniors and the support she gets from them.
The role of the club has changed with time – Initially, it involved organising radio shows during placements and conducting recreational activities during fests. In the past few years, however, Radioaktiv has started focusing on events other than radio shows as they are no longer very popular amongst students. A common issue the club has faced in previous fests is that they are unable to meet the demands of different people in the crowd, which has resulted in unruly situations. This forces them to barricade the centre area in case things get out of control.
