Reception and Accomodation

The APOGEE English Press sat down with Tushar Vigh, the CoStAAn for the Department of Reception and Accommodation (RecNAcc), to gain some insight into their preparations for the fest.

He stated that this would be the first time that events would be held in the Gym Grounds, making it difficult to distribute and manage inventory. To ensure a smooth check-in process for the attendees, he said that RecNAcc has collaborated with the Department of Visual Media and the title sponsor MapMyIndia, to integrate the map system into the participants’ app. The map will direct them to their allocated room so that there are no issues regarding navigation.

Tushar mentioned that the attendees can approach the RecNAcc counter at any time to resolve their queries or lodge complaints. He added that though there have been instances where there have been fights between some participants, they have been quick in taking action. In extreme cases, RecNAcc may deduct the cautionary deposit of the participants involved in the matter.

He said that the inventory needs for APOGEE are more technical than other fests, setting them reasonably apart. He said that he hoped to integrate technology to streamline inventory allocation by an online portal in future editions of the fest. This measure would tackle the issue of loss of inventory. Due to an increase in the expected footfall during the fest this time, he had received numerous requests for accommodation at hotels in Pilani and VFast Hostel.

On a concluding note, he urged the GBM to stay for APOGEE since there was something for everyone this time and promised a fest like never before.
