The 76th Republic Day celebrations began with a flag hoisting ceremony in all hostels at 8:00 AM. The main celebrations, held at M-Lawns, began at 9:00 AM. Organised by Prof. Sushila Shekhawat, the ceremony began with a commencement speech that chronicled the history of the nation’s constitution and its significance.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Dean Administration Prof. NVM Rao, and Registrar Col. S Chakraborty (Retd) hoisted the flag. Mr Kishore Singh, the Chief Security Officer, gave the Guard of Honour.
Dr Anil Rai and his team, which included students from Gurukul, sang Vande Mataram. They also performed songs describing the achievements of the country’s ancestors and its rich heritage.
Afterwards, the national pledge was taken, and the programme came to a close with the national anthem being sung. On the way out, attendees were given mithai boxes in the spirit of celebration.
