Snooker – BITS vs. GSB

Prospects seem favourable for the BITS Snooker Team after a decisive victory in the semifinals against GSB (Graduate School of Business). In the game that took place in the evening on Friday, BITS won four sets in a row out of seven, concluding the match right there. While the event itself did not see a lot of spectatorship, it proved to be a major morale booster for the home team.

There are seven frames in a match – one frame lasts as long as the balls stay on the table. The team that wins most frames wins the match. The first frame saw a few fouls by Karan (GSB) in the early stages of the frame, giving a lead to Eashan, his opponent, which was maintained with skillful ease. The second frame was more competitive, with the lead oscillating between players. Both players played a very tactical game, taking shots that made their opponent’s turn more difficult to play. The third and fourth frames however, were very one sided. Anirudh, the team captain, and Naman, a  seasoned veteran were able to secure the match for BITS convincingly.
