Swimming (Boys)- David Mathew

With BOSM getting closer every day, the BOSM English Press approached the vice-captain of the swimming team, David Mathew, regarding the preparatory work leading up to the fest and to get a deeper dive into the workings of the swim team.

Talking about the swimming team, David mentioned that his favourite part was definitely the people, as he thought that the time they had spent together had inculcated a sense of bonding among them. He said that the swimming pool being outside the campus was a ‘blessing in disguise’, as it allowed the team to spend more time together in transit, which allowed them to get much closer.

David said that most of his job as the Vice-Captain entailed making workout plans for the team, and then ensuring they showed up for said workout sessions. He mentioned that this had always been a concern for sports teams. He said that he appreciated the involvement of the institute in the workings of the team, by providing a free-of-cost bus service to get to the Rakesh Swim Centre. Listing the achievements of the team, David proudly revealed that they won ‘at least’ 8 gold medals in the last edition of BOSM and that they aimed for more this year.
