The most awaited Deparment of Informalz event, the Oasis Treasure Hunt, witnessed massive turnout as it does year after year. The event commenced at around 12:00 am, with restless teams clamouring for the attention of Informalz volunteers. Around 80 teams registered for the event.
As soon as the first clue was given, the teams settled down and started to rack their brains to figure out the answer. When conventional methods didn’t work, they started to look for more imaginative ways to get to the answer. From coaxing Informalz volunteers to spill the beans to eavesdropping on other teams, they left no stones unturned in this quest. The Informalz volunteers tried their best to guide people in the right directions, but this only led to the crowd turning more desperate. One team started charging at the stage and had to be pacified with more hints to solve their clue. While roaming around campus in search of locations, some teams lost their way and couldn’t make their way back to the FD2 QT, and were found in various states of distress around the campus, some holding up their clues as a plea for assistance. The experience was harrowing for the volunteers as well, one of who was reduced to tears by constant harassment from some participants.
After solving 5 clues in almost 5 hours of this ordeal, the DVM and PCR teams made their way to the final round. The final clue was an Arduino coded machine, whose behaviour the teams had to observe to get to the final answer. Since there was a single machine only, they took turns of half an hour each with it. The DVM team solved the penultimate clue first, but couldn’t solve final the clue in their first turn. However, as the PCR team was going at it, DVM cracked the code and got the final answer, which were coordinates to the location of the Informalz structure, the entrance of FD2.
