ELAS

Ahead of BOSM 2026, the BOSM English Press sat down with Pratham, the BOSM coordinator of the English Language Activities Society (ELAS), to discuss their plans and preparations for the upcoming fest.

When asked about the society’s plans for BOSM, Pratham shared that BOSM was likely the fest in which ELAS does the least. He said that this year they would be doing two events: a sports quiz to be conducted completely in-house, and Jeopardy!. The latter would be a new event which hadn’t yet been done in any iteration of the fest, while the sports quiz had been a traditional event.

He thanked the Sports Financial Committee for approving a cash prize for their events this year, as opposed to prizes in kind, which were usually what were handed out in the preceding years. He pointed out that the sports quiz in particular had always been a popular event with 75 competing teams or more than 150 individual participants, and with a cash prize, this number was only expected to climb.

On a personal note, Pratham said that this BOSM would be his last active iteration of the fest on campus, as he would be graduating soon, and as such, the thing he enjoyed most was working with his juniors and making that one last question deck. He shared a quiet hope for a smooth experience with Audio Visual Labs on the setup for the events and concluded by urging the student body to attend the quizzes despite their level of prior experience and knowledge, noting that it would be a fun experience either way.
