With BOSM 2026 in sight now, the BOSM English Press sat down with Sohan Khandekar, the joint coordinator for the BOSM Hindi Press, to discuss the club’s preparations for the fest. 

Sohan explained that the club has four verticals: video editors, formatters, writers, and cartoonists. The video editors are responsible for conducting pre-fest video interviews of the members of the Committee of Students for Sports Activities (CoSSAc), the Sports Financial Committee, the Sports Secretary, and the Joint Sports Secretaries, which are uploaded on Instagram. The formatters handle the design and layout for the ‘wall-mags’, which are essentially banners with pictures and remarks of the CoSSAcns, team captains, and coordinators who work during BOSM. The writers collect responses from the coordinators for the wall-mags and work on newsletters during BOSM. The cartoonists work on caricatures and cartoons to be published in the newsletters.  

Sohan mentioned the club started their work back in June, when they proposed their events as well as undertook budget allocation for their newsletters, wall-mags, etc. for BOSM. The newsletters, which will be released daily in Hindi, will cover headline events during the fest. The wall-mags will be displayed in the Main Auditorium during Inaug, following which they will be moved to GymG for the duration of the matches. This year, BHP had also planned live commentary for the basketball and volleyball semi-final and final matches.

Talking about his experience as coordinator, Sohan remarked that everyone had been very cooperative and he had enjoyed working with them, especially the juniors and freshers. He was highly appreciative of the mindset and enthusiasm of his workforce, explaining that even though they had been working for BOSM for a while, their energy had not dwindled and there was a great working environment amongst them. He highlighted better planning and getting a head start on preparations as a key factor this year, which he believed would lead to a smoother overall experience.
