With BOSM ’26 just around the corner, the BOSM English Press (BEP) sat down with Himnish Taneja, the coordinator of the Students’ Union Media Team (SUMT), to understand their work during this edition of the fest.
Himnish explained that SUMT had four verticals—PR and Content, Camera, Video Editing, and Design. He remarked that while the PR and Content team worked on creating content for interviews and shoots, the Camera vertical handled the actual coverage. He further explained that the Video Editing team then put the footage together, while the Design vertical worked on posters, merchandise and other visual material.
He noted that for BOSM, the team had already begun interviewing CoSSAc members, releasing teasers and working on a pre-movie, which would be introduced for the first time this year. Himnish also revealed that they had a larger workforce in PR and Content, in comparison to the Camera and Video Editing verticals. With recruitment underway, he hoped to bridge this gap and strengthen the Camera team.
When asked about the team’s work during the fest, Himnish stated that SUMT would focus on covering the various events taking place across campus, along with interviewing outstation teams and documenting the overall BOSM experience. However, this came with its own challenges. He admitted that capturing fast-paced sports such as cricket, football and table tennis required considerable skill, while events such as the Rotunda Rave could make getting the right camera settings particularly difficult. Drone shots were another aspect that required additional effort.
Reflecting on his experience as a coordinator, Himnish characterised the role as quite demanding, especially while juggling several other commitments. Having spent much of the past week at the Students Activities Centre (SAC), he noted that the workload could be challenging, but also described interviewing people and covering events as an enjoyable experience. He also thanked the CoSSAc and the SFC for providing more than sufficient equipment for this year’s coverage.
On a parting note, he encouraged the GBM to follow SUMT’s coverage, watch and share its interviews, and stay tuned for interviews with outstation teams as they arrive on campus for the fest.
