Krishay Prakash, the coordinator of the Google Developers Student Club (GDSC), sat down with the APOGEE English Press to discuss the workings of the club during the fest.
Krishay mentioned that GDSC is organising three events this year: ‘GrepCTF’, ‘Redesign the Web’, and ‘Graphic Showdown’. He explained that ‘GrepCTF’ would be an online capture-the-flag meant to assess the problem-solving abilities of the participants. He added that ‘Redesign the Web’ and ‘Graphic Showdown’ are design-focused events wherein participants would be tasked with redesigning pre-existing websites and creating posters respectively. He clarified that these events would also have technical aspects to them.
When asked about any difficulties faced, Krishay shared that everything proceeded smoothly compared to last year. He went on to add that they have been having regular meetings and efficiently allocating tasks to members. Speaking of his experience as the coordinator, he said that he ‘had a fantastic time’ and greatly enjoyed piecing together the events. Furthermore, he appreciated his seniors, who helped him at various points along the way.
On a parting note, he urged BITSians to participate in their events, claiming them to be a great starting point to increase their interest in technology.
