The APOGEE English Press sat down with Yash Choudhary, the CoStAAn of the Department of Art, Design and Publicity (ADP), to gain insights into their work prior to the fest.
He explained that the department consists of three verticals – painting, structure, and publicity – to cater to the diverse range of work. The work done by members in the painting vertical includes making the backdrop of the auditorium stage, two panels outside the auditorium, and various other small panels spread across the campus. The members in the structure vertical handle making the human-sized artwork to place both inside and outside the auditorium. They also place photo booths all around the campus. The members of the publicity vertical manage ADP’s social media handles on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter by creating reels, posts, and stories. He added that ADP collaborates with media partners who publish fest-related articles on their platforms.
He mentioned that they have created more photo booths, especially for GymG, which would be put into use for the first time during this edition of APOGEE. ‘Whenever people would click and post the photos, it would automatically publicize the fest,’ he said. To delegate tasks efficiently, he said that there are over four coordinators who manage various verticals.
One of the challenges ADP faces not only in APOGEE but also during other fests is the fulfillment of payment advances before the fest. This is needed in order to arrange for good decoration items. According to him, compromising on creativity is not an option, despite monetary constraints.
On a concluding note, he stated that he looks forward to the professional shows and events like “Go-karting” and “ATV riding”, which will be conducted for the first time during this edition of APOGEE. He urges everyone to enjoy the fest to the fullest.
