Biological Association (B1)

The coordinator of the Biological Association, Sanya Agarwal, sat down with the APOGEE English Press to describe the events that the Biological Association will be organising for the fest.

Sanya said that the Biological Association will be organising three events. The first event is a Murder Mystery Treasure Hunt. She highlighted that this year’s edition will have fresh clues and a revamped storyline that the entire association had worked on. The second event is Dexter’s Lab Escape Room, where participants will have to tackle experiments and decode clues, which are strategically placed throughout the room, to escape. Sanya added that the association is also organising an Insect Photography Talk and Nature Walk. Aside from this, the Limca Record Holder, Alok Shinde, will be leading a captivating session on insect photography techniques. Additionally, the association is curating an exhibition showcasing algae art and vibrant bacterial displays by Professor Prabhat, offering a unique blend of science and artistry.

Sanya mentioned that preparing for APOGEE hadn’t been without its hurdles. She elaborated that there were difficulties in managing schedules, particularly after the midsems when a majority of the workforce was at home or was out of the station. Sanya added that, however, the entire team was able to ‘walk out of these troubles together as a unit’.

Talking about her experience as the coordinator, Sanya said that leading the team had been rewarding, citing the dedication of her fellow members as a reason for this. Sanya noted that her overall communication with CoStAA had been smooth except for occasional scheduling conflicts with the Controls team.

Closing the interview, Sanya extended a warm invitation to BITSians to all the events organised by the Biological Association, particularly highlighting that the perennial favourite, Murder Mystery, was not to be missed.
