Creative Activities Club

The APOGEE English Press interviewed Anushka Doshi, the APOGEE Coordinator of the Creative Activities Club (CrAC), to learn more about the club’s role in APOGEE ’26.

Anushka said CrAC’s primary duties for the fest would revolve around creating the six APOGEE letters, a central element that would reflect the fest’s theme. In addition, the club would be conducting multiple events, including their popular face-painting event, Splash, which would be held at Rotunda.

Elaborating on their events, she mentioned that CrAC would also be hosting a graffiti room in FD-2. While Splash continued to be their major attraction, they would also be introducing changes to their stall this year. Shifting from their usual tote bag and mug painting, the stall this APOGEE would feature new activities such as texture painting and fluid art on canvases.

Speaking about this APOGEE’s theme, Anushka explained that the letters were being designed with a cyberpunk-inspired theme. Elements such as a cyan and purple colour scheme, along with designs that drew inspiration from the art styles presented in dystopian anime had been incorporated, contributing to the letters’ futuristic feel. In addition to the letters, the club is working on a panel based around WALL-E. While not directly aligned with their cyberpunk theme, she remarked that its sci-fi undertones and popular appeal would make it a fitting addition.

When questioned about their preparation, she shared that work for APOGEE had begun towards the end of January, with daily sessions lasting two to three hours, which had increased to about four hours after the mid-semesters. Despite challenges such as a lack of workforce in the days around the mid-semesters, the team had managed to stick to their structured timeline, ensuring steady progress. Anushka emphasised that planning and setting clear goals had been crucial to the timely completion of their work. She acknowledged that the most challenging phase would be during the fest itself, when many of their events would be running simultaneously.

The coordinator described her experience in CrAC as ‘surreal and fulfilling’. She highlighted that one of the most satisfying aspects of her role was seeing a basic sketch evolve into a completed work of art. She also expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the club’s members, acknowledging their consistent commitment and hard work. Concluding the interview, Anushka shared that she hoped people would engage with and appreciate CrAC’s work, whether by attending their events or simply enjoying the various installations they would set up across campus.
