EEE Association

The circuital branches are infamous for their difficult course structures. The EEE Association (EEE Assoc), headed by Venkat Satyadev for APOGEE ‘24 aims to bridge the gap between the difficult subjects of EEE and the rest of the campus by organizing project displays from EEE profs and competitions for designing analogs, which are types of circuits.

In his interview with the AEP, Venkat spoke about their circuit designing contest: Srikant Vishweswariah Analog Design Contest (SVADC). As the name suggests, it is sponsored by an alumni of BITS Pilani. In APOGEE ‘23, this contest aimed to have the participants make an arduino circuit and this year it would have them designing analog circuits while adhering to strict guidelines. The SVADC has three rounds, the first one being an elimination round in the form of a quiz. From there the event progresses into its actual designing competition, with rounds two and three giving the contestant the function, elements and purposes of a circuit before asking them to design it. The questions for the contest will come from the professors of the circuital branches themselves.

The event will be organized separately for the BE and the ME students. Last year 20 teams, i.e, 40 people (two per team) made it to the final round. This year they expect around the same number to qualify.

Along with SVADC, Venkat let us in on a time cherished event of the EEE Assoc, their Psenti Farewell. Talking about his expectations for the fest, he mentioned that everything has been going smoothly and he, among many others, is excited for the professional shows. Venkat said that he believes this APOGEE will go really well because of all the effort the CoStAA is putting in.
