As Oasis ’26 drew closer, the Oasis English Press (OEP) sat down with Trizal Garg, the Coordinator of Enactus, to gain an insight into their involvement and preparations for the upcoming fest.
Trizal began by explaining that Enactus—short for Entrepreneurial Action and Us—was centered around social entrepreneurship, and aimed to launch ventures that drive social betterment. He explained that for Oasis this year, the club would be organizing two events—the ‘Mechanical Bull Ride’, where participants attempt to maintain their balance on a spinning bull, and the ‘Make Your Own Perfume’ booth, where participants could take a small bottle of their custom fragrance home.
Providing updates on the club’s social startups, Trizal detailed that Project Kavach repurposed eggshell waste into calcium gummies. While the gummies had been developed and tested, the project remained stuck due to licensing delays from governing bodies such as the FSSAI. Regarding Project Amrut, he revealed how potato starch gel plates were processed to filter water pollutants. He also added that the club was planning to expand its social ventures into the technology space to leverage AI tools to optimise product development timelines.
He mentioned that the club began its preparations around mid-September, with most of the workload involving vendor negotiations to secure optimal rental rate for the mechanical bull. He also added that the allotment of work for the fest was rather straightforward because it was based on the preferences of each club member.
He went on to discuss that the club was short on funds, viewing the process of raising capital as an operational challenge to overcome rather than an unsolvable problem.
Trizal also noted that many of those on campus might not be familiar with Enactus because a bulk of their work takes place off-campus. Dispelling the misconception that Enactus was inactive, he emphasized that the club was very much active, with members actively engaged in social entrepreneurship ventures, noting that ‘Enactus, BITS Pilani is doing great from a national perspective.’
Concluding the interaction, Trizal thanked StuCCA and the Department of Controls for their support and cooperation, and urged the GBM to attend their events, bring their friends along, have fun, and support their upcoming initiatives.
