Transportation
A majority of BITSians make their trip to campus via either Jaipur or Delhi. Travelling by cab, bus, or train are the main options available. Although Delhi and Jaipur are roughly the same distance from Pilani, the greater number of travel options via Delhi makes it the preferred way to travel.
On-Road
An estimate of four to five hours is required to reach the campus from both Delhi and Jaipur. There are numerous travel agencies that provide pre-booked taxis and buses from the airports directly to Pilani. The Students’ Union usually has a tie up with the Pilani-based agency, Verma Tours and Travels, to avail cab and bus services from Jaipur or Delhi to Pilani for BITS students, however this service is currently unavailable. It is advised to plan your road journey in a way that ensures you would not be driving when it gets dark. The low visibility at night makes the roads unsafe for travel.
From Delhi
Students often travel by the four major routes to reach campus via Delhi.
- Delhi Airport–Bahadurgarh–Jhajjar–Charkhi Dadri–Loharu–Pilani (180 kms)
- Delhi Airport–Gurgaon–Dharuhera–Rewari–Mahendragarh–Satnali–Loharu–Pilani (202 kms)
- Delhi Airport–Bahadurgarh–Rohtak–Bhiwani–Loharu–Pilani (204 kms)
- Delhi Airport–Gurgaon–Dharuhera–Rewari–Narnaul–Singhana–Chirawa–Pilani (210 kms)
Regular bus services also operate between Delhi and Pilani from 4:00 AM to 9:30 PM. These buses leave Delhi from Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and Kashmiri Gate. The campus is located approximately one and a half kilometres away from the Pilani bus stand.
From Jaipur
Students often travel by two major routes to reach campus via Jaipur.
- Jaipur Airport–Chomu–Reengus–Shrimadhopur–Udaipurwati–Ghuda Gorji–Sultana– Chirawa–Pilani (227 kms)
- Jaipur Airport–Chomu–Reengus–Sikar–Nawalgarh–Jhunjhunu–Chirawa–Pilani (236 kms)
Regular bus services also operate between Jaipur and Pilani from 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM. These buses leave Jaipur from Rajasthan State Roadways bus stand, Sindhi camp.
Train Travel
Chirawa (16 km) and Loharu (24 km) are the train stations nearest to campus. Loharu is the preferred station to get down at due to the high availability of cabs and buses. The station is about 40 minutes away from campus by bus or cab.
Direct trains to Loharu are available from Sarai Rohilla Station (DEE), Old Delhi Railway Station (DLI), and New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS).
