With Oasis ’26 on the horizon, the Oasis English Press sat down with Arya Sibal, the Coordinator of Hindi Activity Society (HAS).

Arya mentioned that being one of the oldest clubs of BITS Pilani, they had undergone a structural transition in the past few years, moving from managing smaller events like Shayari and post-fest Antakshari, to larger audiences, as in N2O and concerts. He mentioned that alongside pitching for concerts and N2O, HAS would be managing ticketing, hospitality, and other related work to ensure the smooth execution of events.  

Arya said that they worked together with Audi Force to manage the large footfall at these events and to ensure that no rules were broken. Apart from the usual HAS events of Filmi Mukabla, Standup Soapbox, Antaak and Quillympics, this edition of Oasis would include the recently added event of ‘RelationSh!t Advice’. It drew inspiration from a popular YouTube panel show by the same name. Here, the attendees would get to share their relationship experiences and remark on other related scenarios.

Regarding the weeks spent preparing for these events, Arya shared that the major bottlenecks this time around included pitching events, delegating responsibilities, and the back-and-forth of quotes for security and hospitality with the vendors. He felt gratified for the support of the StuCCA and CRC in ensuring the procurement of good artists, and the fund allocation for their events.

Reflecting on his journey as Coordinator, Arya shared that it had been an enjoyable experience leading their team and working on so many diversified responsibilities. He felt that tasks were completed on time owing to the good coordination between HAS and Audi Force, with the constant support of his team, including the two Joint Coordinators, Nidhi and Shikhar. As the last week wound up, he and his team felt enthusiastic about how Oasis would unfold. On a concluding note, he requested everyone to adhere to the guidelines so as to enjoy a hassle-free and entertaining time during Oasis.
