The coordinator of the IIChE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers) chapter of BITS Pilani, Vinayak Gupta, recently sat down with the APOGEE English Press (AEP) to discuss the work the team is putting in for the upcoming fest.
Vinayak said that IIChE is set to host ‘ChemPoker’ during the fest, featuring a prize pool of ten thousand rupees. He added that the event offers a classical poker experience with a twist: each card poses a question related to the field of chemical technology.
Additionally, he said that the team is organising an ASPEN-HYSYS Modeling workshop to help students polish necessary skills for career growth. ASPEN-HYSYS is a software used to design flowcharts in the chemical industry. The workshop will span three days, with the initial two days focusing on teaching the participants how to use the software, culminating with a test on the last day. The participants will get certification and the highest scorer of the test will be awarded a prize.
Vinayak appreciated the CoStAA for being supportive during the preparations. Talking about his expectations for the fest, he remarked that even though he was exhausted from his workload, he could not help but be excited by the amazing roster of professional shows lined up one after the other. He also expressed excitement to ‘see the stage of APOGEE being used to its full potential as a tech fest.’
