Vijay Kumar, the coordinator of Inspired Karters Electric (IKE), took some time off of his busy schedule to chat with the Apogee English Press and provide some insight into their work for APOGEE 2024.
Vijay explained that IKE will be organising three events this APOGEE. The first is the ‘Formula One’ quiz on April 5, 2024, which will ascertain the ‘F1’ knowledge of the participants. Vijay mentioned that only IKE will be hosting this event this year, as opposed to them collaborating with ELAS in the past.
Next is the Digital Design (DD) competition, which is mainly controlled by their electrical subsystem. The event is split into three rounds, spanning across three days: the first will be a primary assessment on paper, the second would involve some electrical application, and the last round will be conducted in the DD lab.
Their third event will be the ‘Cadethon’, which is organised in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Association. A team of two to three participants will attempt a problem set and design an auto Fusion 360 logo based on it. The event will be conducted over two days starting from April 5, with the qualifying round being online.
Vijay revealed that unlike previous fests, IKE has cancelled the F1 simulator event because another club is said to be doing a similar showcase. Vijay exclaimed that his interest in management and operations inspired him to join IKE in his second year. He added that being a coordinator of a technical club has helped him develop essential skills like organisation, problem solving, and teamwork.
He concluded by saying that he was looking forward to APOGEE this year and encouraged everyone to participate in the aforementioned events.
