With APOGEE ‘26 just around the corner, the AEP sat down with Navneet Taori, the APOGEE Coordinator of RadioAktiv, to gain insight into the workings of the club and their role in the upcoming fest.

Navneet explained that RadioAktiv was known for hosting some of the most popular and exciting events on campus, such as the Fake Sangeet and Prom Nite during Oasis. They also organise either an inauguration party to kick off the fest or an after-party on the last day of the fest.

He shared that this year, the club would be organising Casino Nite in collaboration with the Department of Informalz. He explained that it would be a formal casino setup brought to life, right in SAC, where patrons can engage in Poker, Roulette, and Blackjack. With the prize pool being Rs. 20,000 and the top players having the chance to win gift hampers, speakers, and headphones, Navneet greatly encouraged the student body to participate in this ‘exciting’ event. He stated that, in addition to this, they would also be organising their usual corroboree. He further added that they had yet to make a decision on it being an inauguration party or after-party. However, he hinted that they did have a jungle theme in mind, with attractions like the popular dancing gorillas, often seen on social media.

Discussing their timeline, Navneet explained that they generally begin their ideation one to two months before the fest. In the weeks leading up to the event, they finalise the vendors, get the budget approved, and conduct signings at the mess and eateries. He further stated that the setup of the stage and decoration is usually done on the day of the event.

On being asked about his experience as a Coordinator, he described it to be ‘extremely fun and interesting’. He shared that, while it was a lot of work and responsibility, his workforce made it much easier as they enjoyed each other’s company, and that it was never a dull day working together.  As a parting message, Navneet urged the students to attend RadioAktiv’s events, promising them a good time.
