Punjabi Cultural Association (PCA)

With Oasis ’26 close by, the Oasis English Press sat down with Jotswaroop, the coordinator of the Punjabi Cultural Association (PCA), to discuss its preparations for the fest.

Jotswaroop began by explaining that PCA organised several events throughout the year, with Gurpurab this November being one of its biggest. Additionally, they organised grubs throughout the year featuring Punjabi delicacies. He also recalled that the association had previously organised nights in the auditorium, featuring DJs,  acts,  and dance performances. He further revealed PCA also participates in Founder’s Day celebrations, which included a dance feature.

When asked about their plans for Oasis, he explained that PCA had planned a flash mob followed by an open DJ. The entire association, including its freshmen, was involved in the preparations. Dance practices had begun just after midsems, and around 70–80% of the rehearsals had already been completed a week before Oasis. The team had since moved on to polishing the final performance.

Reflecting on his experience as Coordinator, he described it as both hectic and enjoyable. He shared how this role had given him the opportunity to spend time with his friends and work closely with his juniors. He particularly appreciated the interaction and bonding that came with working alongside the association’s newest recruits.

When asked about the challenges involved in managing the association’s activities, Jotswaroop replied that things had been running smoothly. He mentioned that although coordinating the association’s various activities could be demanding, he enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to work with his team. With dance practices well underway and the final performance taking shape, the association had made considerable progress in its preparations.

Addressing BITSians, he hoped that Oasis would be just as ‘crazy’ and energetic as the previous year. He looked forward to PCA’s flash mob and open DJ adding to the excitement of the fest.
